Bassetlaw Achieve Fairtrade Status !

In September 2009, after just one year of campaigning by Fairtrade for Bassetlaw, we have achieved our initial goal of becoming a Fairtrade Zone.  To do this we have had to show the Fairtrade Foundation that there are enough shops, cafes, restaurants, employers big & small, places of worship & voluntary groups that use or sell Fairtrade products and also that we have the backing of the District Council.  That we could do this demonstrates that the people of North Nottinghamshire care about Fairtrade not just for themselves but also for those struggling to make a better life for themselves.
